Richard has been involved in the Financial Services Industry since completing his Economics Degree qualification in 1990.
Richard established Journey Financial Group Pty Ltd (previously Rayment Financial Services) in 1991 as a Sole Advisory Practice.
Since then, he has built up a considerable client base offering specialised services in Superannuation and Retirement Planning, Tax Effective Investments and Wealth Creation, Risk Management and Business Planning.
Although Journey Financial Group is based in Townsville, North Queensland, the business has been able to expand through the improvements in technology to assist individuals and small business throughout Australia.
Journey Financial Group prides themselves in not only assisting their existing valued client relationships but also looks to develop their employees to grow as individuals for career pathways.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from James Cook University and he has completed the DFP 1 through 8 of the Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning). He is always looking to improve his skills and education with ongoing education a priority.
Although the majority of Richard's working career has been in the Financial Services Industry, whilst completing his Degree, he worked in the Hospitality Services Industry in various roles and ran a Martial Arts School providing self-defence training and personal growth development skills. He is also a former Rugby League player and supporter of the North Queensland Cowboys.

Since becoming a fully qualified adviser in the year 2000, Geoff has been able to apply his previous Investment and Small Business experience to really understand what clients want to achieve with their finances and then assist them to grow and protect their wealth.
With a particular focus on Superannuation and Retirement Planning Strategies, strengthened by extensive ongoing training and development in these key areas, Geoffrey can help you to set realistic goals and keep you on track to achieving them.
Geoffrey’s vast technical knowledge ensures you receive sound advice that will help put you in a better financial position. His ability to convey complex and often confusing financial strategies in an easy to understand language leaves you in no doubt that your future is in good hands.
Rikarli has been working in the Financial Services Industry since 2013. She completed her Bachelor of Business and Commerce Degree with the University of Southern Queensland in 2018 and during this time, she was recognised for her outstanding academic achievements and invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society. She also holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and a Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking). She continues to looks for ways to further her knowledge within the industry.
She is enjoying her latest challenge in the industry as an Authorised Financial Adviser and can provide Personal Financial Advice in the areas of Superannuation and Retirement Planning, Tax Effective Investments, Wealth Creation, Risk Management and Business Planning.
Rikarli is a Townsville local and is embracing the chance to be a part of a business that has played an important role in her family throughout her lifetime. She joined the Journey Financial Group team in 2015 and has spent a considerable amount of time assisting her father - Richard Rayment in servicing and building relationships with the clients of the Practice during this period.
She performs all aspects of her role with strong conviction and is always willing to assist wherever possible.
Brett has had considerable experience over the past 35 years within the commercial world. He began in Investigations of various corporate entities and their financial affairs and moved from this area to accountancy and his own practice.
He has been involved in Business Planning and Structures, Investments, Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, Estate Planning and other Investment and Business areas.
Brett holds the following qualifications: Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Accountant, Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant, Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, Master in Taxation Law University of New South Wales and Diploma in Financial Planning. He is also a Justice of the Peace (Qualified), Fellow of the Australian Taxation Institute and Associate of the Taxpayers Association.
He has built up a considerable client base, offering specialised services in Superannuation, Retirement Planning, Tax Efficient investments, Wealth Creation, Risk Management and Business planning.

Katrina Green Practice Manager | Client Relationship Manager
Katrina has 21 years’ experience in the Financial Planning industry and holds a Diploma in Financial Planning which enables her to assist with general Financial Planning enquiries. Katrina has held various roles within the industry, including Para-planning, Client Relationship Management, Office Management and HR.
Katrina moved to Townsville from Brisbane in 2015, where she enjoys visiting a few times each year to spend time with family. In Brisbane, Katrina worked for a range of different Financial Planning practices, however her favourite part of the job has always been assisting the Advisers to help provide exceptional client services.
Chelsea Sprott Reception
Chelsea joined the Journey team in October 2018. After gaining vast experience in the Hospitality industry, Chelsea was eager for a breath of fresh air and a new start in the Financial Planning world.
While Chelsea is only new to the industry, she is looking forward to furthering her knowledge by studying the Diploma in Financial Planning in the near future to help her settle into a long term career in the Financial Planning Industry.
Hayley Holland Client Relationship Manager
After establishing a career spanning more than 15 years working within the Community and Legal Services Sector, Hayley has recently made a change into the Financial Planning Industry, having joined the Journey Financial team in October 2019.
Having a background in legislation and compliance, Hayley is looking forward to exploring the Industry in its entirety and paving out a new, long-term career within the team here at Journey.
Sarah Santo Administration Assistant
Sarah recently joined the Journey Team in August 2019 after relocating from Charters Towers. She was ready to experience a change and found her new home in the Financial Planning Industry. Sarah is now a part of our team as the Administration Assistant.
Although she is fairly new to the team and the Financial Planning industry, she has shown large enthusiasm towards all aspects of her work.
Sarah enjoys working with the Journey Team and loves to lend a hand wherever she can. Sarah is excited to continue in this career pathway and will commence her Financial Planning Diploma studies in 2020. She looks forward to using this to expand her knowledge and provide for a stable future that she will happily enjoy that will also enable her to develop her understanding throughout her career.
Jodie Marquardt Financial Adviser
A member of the financial planning community since 2006, Jodie is passionate about helping clients to achieve their financial and lifestyle goals, and protect their families from financial uncertainty.
Initially, Jodie worked in client services and para-planning roles while developing her technical knowledge through a combination of mentoring and formal studies. This included a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning), and Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.
Jodie’s diligence within her studies earned her the ‘Young Planner of the Year’ award from the Townsville chapter of the Financial Planning Association in 2012.
She subsequently went on to graduate from CQUniversity with a Bachelor of Financial Planning ‘With Distinction’ and recognition from the Chancellor, having achieved a near-perfect grade point average over the course of her degree.
Building on a solid base of industry experience and education, in 2013, Jodie was accepted by a ‘big-four’ bank into a six-month professional development program as one of only thirteen participants nation-wide. She was then appointed to her first advice role, and has since spent the past six years providing quality financial advice in superannuation, retirement planning, investment, and insurance to a varied clientele.
